Welcome to the Neijia Academy of Martial Arts and Meditation.

The Neijia Academy offers instruction for Bāguà zhǎng, Tàijí quán and Xing Yi quán. These three systems comprise the main Chinese martial arts of the Wudang school, more broadly grouped as an internal practice or neijia quan. In addition, we offer various southern style Chinese Kung fu and meditation training.

  • Sun and Cheng style Bāguà zhǎng
  • Buddhist and Taoist Meditation
  • Sun style Xing Yi quán
  • Five Animal Kung Fu
  • Chen and Yang Tàijí quán
  • Qiqong

Xing Yi quán is classified as one of the internal styles of Chinese martial arts. The name of the art translates approximately to "Form-Intention Fist", or "Shape-Will Fist". Xing Yi is characterized by relatively forward linear movements and explosive power.

Tai chi, short for T'ai chi ch'üan or Tàijí quán, is an internal Chinese martial art practiced for both its defense training, its health benefits and meditation. The term taiji is a Chinese cosmological concept for the flux of yin and yang, and 'quan' means fist.

Bāguà zhǎng literally means "eight trigram palm," referring to the trigrams of the I Ching. The practice of circle walking is the characteristic method of stance and movement training. Students begin learning proper stepping and posture before moving to more complex forms.
